In this role, you will assist the enterprise in leveraging data assets to full capacity. You will ensure that data policies and standards are enforced to increase the usability of high-quality data assets. You will be a key contributor to build a more data-focused culture at Amgen and advocate for the proper use of and attention to data.

R esponsibilities

  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Business SMEs and Data Scientists to capture metadata t o increase the ease of use of data assets .
  • Maintain domain specific data definitions and business rules .
  • Assist in defining business data quality requirements .
  • Measure data quality and defines data related KPIs important to all stakeholders .
  • Define and manage relevant service requests, issues and changes in accordance with Service Level agreements .
  • Defines and maintains the Data Privacy & Security standards for the set of data elements under her or his stewardship .
  • Proactively identify & implement opportunities to automate tasks and develop reusable frameworks
  • Monitor data usage to assist teams, share best practice trends in data use, and provide insight into how and where teams can use data to help in day-to-day decision-making

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of data or software engineering experience
  • OR
  • Associate's degree and 6 years of data or software engineering experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of data or software engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ab ility to work with business stewards to capture glossary definitions and the other related metadata.
  • Strong understanding of relevant data standards and industry trends
  • Ab ility to assess and facilitate impact analysis of a system change .
  • Knowledge of relevant external regulations that impact data and data management processes
  • Ability to execute data remediation and impact assessment efforts .
  • Proficient in one of the coding languages (Python, Java, Scala)
  • Hands on experience writing SQL using any RDBMS (Redshift, Postgres, MySQL, Teradata, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience with Schema Design & Dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience with AWS Services like EC2, S3, Redshift/Spectrum, Glue, Athena, RDS, Lambda, and API gateway.
  • Experience with Spark, Hive, Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming, and Airflow.
  • H ands on experience using Databricks/ Jupyter or similar notebook environment.
  • Experience w orking in an agile environment ( i.e. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
  • Experience w orking with test-driven development and software test automation
  • Experience wo rking in Product teams environment
