Position Overview:

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership in the broad field of geospatial technologies with the core purpose of optimizing the deployment of geospatial technology and data across the city in a strategic, dependable, and standardized manner. The position will work with our partners throughout the city to understand and gather geospatial needs and solve complex geospatial data and technology design problems. This position will model and solution geospatial technologies and data using current and, when applicable, imminent best practices, develop proof of concepts, communicate with system administrators and developers to move from proof of concept to production, and present on highly technical topics to a range of audiences. This position requires someone who is a highly skilled technologist balanced with the skills of a business relationship manager and who has had hands-on experience managing geospatial technologies from the inception of data to the front-end design of mapping technologies' and everything in between. The position will participate in strategic and long-term planning of corporate and enterprise-level geospatial goals and objectives. This position may oversee staff and lead a small team.

Pay Range
$37.30 - $49.43

Hours
Standard business hours, however, position may require hours outside of normal business schedule as needed. The position is eligible for remote work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skilled and experienced in administration, configuration, development, and management of data using Esri software and products.
  • Proficient in data modeling and design, SQL development, database and system architecture, cloud infrastructure and technologies, web service architecture, api development, and knowledge of programming languages.
  • Knowledge of systems development, including system development life cycle, project management approaches and requirements, and design and testing techniques.
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
