The IT Security Manager performs two core functions for the Department of Watershed Management (DWM). The first is overseeing the operations of DWM's security solutions through management of the organization's security analysts. The second is establishing an security stance, that aligns with the City's Department of Atlanta Information Management (AIM)'s security policys, architecture and training processes. Secondary tasks will include the selection of appropriate security solutions, and oversight of any vulnerability audits and assessments. The IT Security Manager is expected to interface with peers in the Systems and Network functional areas as well as with the leaders of the business units to both share the corporate security vision with those individuals and to solicit their involvement in achieving higher levels of enterprise security through information sharing and co-operation.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). Candidate must have one or more of the following certifications:

  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Cisco Network Associate Security (CCNA/Security)
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Special Requirements

Preferred Education & Experience: 3-5 years of experience in private-sector corporate security or related public-sector organizations.
